Mature Market Experts Stat of The Day: Brain-Training Games

As the stigma for discussing mental health and memory lessens, the market for brain-games increases.

Can’t remember where you left your keys? You are not alone. The market for computer-based brain training has shot up from essentially zero in 2005 to over $80 million per year1 as the mature market continues to grow.

Humana promotes to its Medicare members a brain fitness program that focuses on sharpening memories, improving attention spans and enhancing communication processes. The program which is marketed under both the Humana and Posit Science name consists of a series of easy-to-use computer exercises. Posit Science’s patented programs run on most laptops or personal computers with no need to purchase special equipment.

This is a perfect example of two opportunities; continued development of brain-training products; and cross-promotion using brain-training products as an incentive.
